An Experienced Family Law Litigator You Can Trust!

About Ken A. Kissir, Local Gresham Attorney

KiKe024x_cropI am an attorney located in Gresham, Oregon. I grew up in East Portland, graduating from Parkrose High School in 1984. My office is here because this is where I live, where my kids go to school and near where most of my clients reside. I have been practicing law in courtrooms since 1996 when I worked as a prosecutor trying misdemeanor and felony cases. From 1996 to 1998 in Clatsop County, and then 1998 and 2002 in Multnomah County, I was in the courtroom almost every single weekday representing the State of Oregon in trials and hearings. Since leaving the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office in 2002 to enter private practice, I have focused my work on what is called “family law,” which involves a number of sub-categories including divorce, separation, annulments, child custody, parenting time, adoptions, spousal support (alimony), grandparent rights including custody, guardianships and visitation. Other types of cases that commonly arise in family law matters include contested restraining orders, stalking orders, district attorney charges for contempt of court, and child support hearings through the Oregon Department of Justice.

I’m Your Attorney

One thing I want to be clear about: I do not hire associate attorneys – if you retain me as your attorney I will be with you every step of the way in this process.

Although the law is the same for every attorney, but the results your attorney obtains for you can vary greatly depending not just on your attorney’s knowledge of the law, but also upon the attorney’s familiarity with the court system. As an experienced trial attorney, I possess not only trial skills, but also the experienced necessary allowing me to give clients realistic advise about the strength of their case in contested matters headed for trial, and to assist in negotiating cases to settle them prior to trial if possible. If you have a family law issue, or think you may have one but aren’t sure, please give me a call.
